About Me

I’m Swami Chandrasekaran, Partner/Principal and Global Head of AI & Data Labs at KPMG. I lead the firm’s global AI strategy across Tax, Audit, Advisory, and internal operations—driving enterprise-wide AI adoption for more than 200,000 professionals and translating advanced research into scalable business value.

I oversee global AI and Data R&D, pioneering innovations in intelligent agents, agent control systems, domain-tuned small language models (SLMs), synthetic data, AI UX, and hardware-optimized inferencing. As Chair of KPMG’s AI Technology Review Board, I ensure trusted and responsible AI deployment across the enterprise.

Over my career, I’ve helped organizations unlock billions in business value through AI and digital innovations for 500+ clients in 20+ countries, spanning telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, retail, and pharmaceuticals. I previously established & scaled the KPMG’s Global Cloud Center of Excellence and Solution Architecture discipline, launching award-winning platforms in Medicaid systems, FinOps, risk and compliance, and cloud-native data ecosystems.

Before KPMG, I was named an IBM Distinguished Engineer and IBM Master Inventor for my foundational role in building IBM Watson. I led the forward-deployed Watson Solutions Lab and delivered 100+ AI solutions globally—contributing over $1B in enterprise value. I hold 30+ patents, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from UT Arlington, and I’m a recognized author and mentor committed to advancing STEM education and ethical AI. Today, I represent KPMG in the NIST AI Safety Institute Consortium, shaping the future of trusted AI.
